矿用信号电缆是一种信号传输工具。一般信号电缆传输的信号很小，为了避免信号受到干扰，信号电缆外面有一层屏蔽层，包裹的导体的屏蔽层，一般为导电布，编织铜网或铜泊（铝），屏蔽层需要接地，外来的干扰信号可被该层导入大地，避免干扰信号进入内层导体干扰同时降低传输信号的损耗。
